Infact, I personally liked his Dabangg 1 (2010) and few recent blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Sultan (2016. I genuinely tried hard to enjoy Dabangg 3 as well but failed.
The first half is pathetic where nothing - absolutely nothing - happens. The family shamily drama is a yawn and Chulbul Pandey's (Salman obviously) backstory with his young sweetheart Khushi (Saiee Manjrekar) is unexciting, to put it mildly. That debutant Saiee looks like Salman's beti in the romantic scenes makes matter worse. br> Next, the main villain Bali Singh (Kichcha Sudeepa) enters the frame, falls for Chulbul's girl and begins his full on rivalry with Pandeyji.
On the films only positive, Kannada Superstar Kichcha Sudeepa plays a truly effective antagonist and actually steals the thunder from Salman bhai in most of the scenes he appears in. Brilliant!
Saiee Manjrekar looks pretty but gets too small a role to prove her acting chops. Sonakshi Sinha, reprising her role of Rajjo, is strictly okay. Pramod Khanna fills in for his late brother Vinod Khanna's Prajapati Pandey role. One misses the original Munni Malaika Arora's sexy thumkas in the 'Munna Badnaam hua' item number.
On the tech front, editing by Ritesh Soni is below par. Prabhu Deva's direction is even worse. More woe, the songs are not a patch on the previous two installments and they keep popping up every ten fifteen minutes to slow down the already sluggish narrative. The action finale is stretched beyond a point of endurance.
Finally, Dabangg 3 seems to be a hurriedly made and haphazardly assembled product which adds no value to the franchise.

Wow. First 8 minutes of Joe really seemed Annoyed/Angry with the guys for having different opinions. Chill a bit 😂 maybe watching a Neil Breen film will make him feel better. In order to prepare for the construction of a new reservoir in Massachusetts, he surveys a rural area that is to be flooded near Lovecraft's fictional town of Arkham. He comes across a mysterious patch of land, an abandoned 5-acre (20, 000 m2) farmstead, which is completely devoid of all life. At the centre of the farmstead is an old well. The site fills him with an unnatural sense of dread, and he hurries past it. When he returns to Arkham, the surveyor asks around for information regarding the waste. He learns of an elderly hermit, Ammi Pierce, and asks him about the "blasted heath". The hermit tells him a horrific tale. In the early 1880s, the farm had been productive, run by a Nahum Gardner and his family. Then, one afternoon in June 1882, a large meteorite crashed into the farm, beside the well. It was metallic and contained a substance of an indescribable color that proved toxic. While scientists were never able to tell what (or who) the meteor contained, its effects were undeniable—the entire Gardner family was struck by insanity, illness, and worse, whilst the land around them was slowly drained of life. WHO ELSE WATCHED THE TRAILER JUST BECAUSE OF NICHOLAS CAGE 😁😁. A beautiful film. Engrossing and chilling. I have nothing but praise for the entire creative team involved. Return of slenderman- revenge of forgotten. Yes! Been waiting for your review of this. Glad you enjoyed it. Absolute triumph for horror. Heres to hoping the future adaptations of Lovecraft are just as impressive as this. Not your usual sci-fi / fantastic movie. Whether you like it or not, there is some solid work put behind this movie.
It's a visual and audio opera, especially the second half. And it's a continuous "madness" buildup from the start to the very end. Actors are very good, Cage is awesome, and Laura Dern is perfect. And not all movies are that good at picturing "living nightmares.
It might have been better with a little more explanations or hints by the end. But it's just my opinion. Thing is the movie appears to be very rational in its first part, and just takes the "all about paranormal" in its second part. But that might be director's choice and it kinda works in some way actually. Last point is it's a bit too long in my opinion. Would have been a perfect 90 minutes movie.
Anyway, it's a visual feast, a unique atmosphere, which is truly catchy, an interesting story and, most important point to mention, an original "crossed-genre" movie. Worth a watch.

My grandmother received a plot of land from her father as a wedding gift in the late 50’s. By the early 60’s her husband (my grandfather) had built their first and only home. It is a modest ranch style with 3 small bedrooms & a 3 room finished basement. The basement consisted of a rec room/ bar, a laundry area with a bathroom & a small separate back room. My grandmother is the type of neat-freak that could be categorized as OCD. The top floors of the house are kept pristine, beds made, carpets vacuumed daily, items systematically decluttered. By contrast my grandfather is a literal hoarder & his collections are relegated to the garage and basement to appease my grandmothers standard of order. I lived in my grandparent’s home on and off throughout my childhood & adolescence. My mother was a troubled teen when I was born & has been loosing a battle with opioid addiction ever since. I have a younger brother who is 9 years my junior. My grandparents adopted him early on to circumnavigate the instability & neglect I dealt with as a child. My grandmothers commitment to cleanliness resulted in all of my toys & general play being restricted to the basement rec room. The room itself was oppressive and dark. Wood paneled walls, rusty, burnt orange carpet, yellowed ceiling lights that continuously flickered & my grandfathers collections. Vintage bar paraphernalia, a pool table, hand me down furniture from elder relatives, tin cans full of bits & bobs & every rusty old tool he’d ever come across. Needless to say but this wasn’t a safe, jovial or appropriate play area for a toddler. This was the late 80’s & no one really cared or thought in terms of child safety. I hated it down there. Especially the small back room located on the lefthand side of the basement. It had no door, but where it was located restricted your view of its contents unless you were directly in front the opening. During my early childhood it housed random exercise equipment leftover from my youngest Uncle. During my teenage years it was converted into a spare bedroom. My earliest memories of that basement are from around 3 or four years old. I would be bopping around, minding my own business when I would freeze. It felt like someone was watching me from the back room. I would fill with this intense feeling of dread until I could find the courage to run as fast as I could up the narrow stairway & into my grandmothers kitchen. Never, ever looking back. This was a common occurrence for me & resulted in perpetual scoldings for not putting my toys away. This terror plagued my childhood & has left an indelible physical memory of the incidents. Even recalling them now produces a deep churning in my gut. I would even dream about the basement, that freezing feeling & the panicked running up the stairwell. I never told anyone about it because the incidents began far before I developed the language to explain myself & continued so consistently they were normalized. Also my grandmother is the sort of eastern european catholic that dispels all talk of spirits as heresy yet claims she dreams of the future and can read palms… go figure? Fast forward to the beginning of my teens. I’m in my grandmothers living room with my somewhat estranged mother. I’m excited to be spending time with her, my toddler brother & grandparents are asleep in two out of three of the upstairs bedrooms. I want to have a proper sleepover with her so I start setting up blankets in the living room because the third spare room is extremely small and only has a twin bed. She asks if we should move to the basement so that we don’t wake the baby. I refuse & when she asks why I explain the feelings I get when I’m down there & how I’d never sleep in that back room. I remember her being a bit startled. She explained to me that the same feelings persisted throughout her childhood & into her teens. Even my uncle would have similar experiences when using the workout equipment in the back room. They all had the same experience of being snapped out of their activities by this intense feeling of being watched, then scrambling as fast as they could to get upstairs. My mother even admitted to having a seance with her friends to contact the spirit when she was a young teen. This explanation justified my terrors & oddly enough feeling validated in my experiences made the whole thing seem more benevolent. As I grew older elements of the haunting persisted. I ended up spending a lot of time in the basement because it became the only sanctuary from nosey grandparents & my pestering little brother. I would hear faucets turn on and off while alone in the house. While watching an Elvis movie marathon on TV a stack of elvis records fell on me from a high shelf while I was trying to make my way to the bathroom. At 16 I remember sitting in a chair watching TV late at night, not far from that back room when that dread feeling came over me. This time I just scolded it and told it to leave me alone. Nothing, not even ghosts can get between a teen girl and her need for personal space. One question I always wanted answered was the origin of the haunting. No one else had ever lived in the house & the best explanation I could muster was a possible spiritual attachment to all my grandfathers old things. Years past & I eventually left the house leaving the state and my little brother behind. Upon returning for a visit the topic of hauntings came up in conversation with my now pre-teen brother. He was a hardcore skeptic, however, he told me how he used to feel like the clown dolls were watching him as a child & he didn’t want to play in the basement because of them. The important factor here is that these clown dolls were acquired after my great grandmother past away. My grandmother had stored the dolls on a corner shelf in the basement right next to that dreaded back room. Without prior knowledge my brother had corroborated an experience myself and older relatives had, only he blamed it on a set of creepy dolls that happened to be placed in the same area we all felt uneasy about. This rekindled my interest in the subject. I asked my grandfather what had occupied the land prior to our home. His answer was nothing, except a small portion of a foundation leftover from a prior development. Our home is in a post industrial area that used to house one of the countries premier steel mills. There used to be factory housing for the workers in the general area of my Grandparents home. As American steel production slowed, the company sold off the old factory housing which was mostly vacant at the time and in complete disrepair. According to my grandfather, some elderly folks attempted to hold onto their properties, not having anywhere else to go. When demolition time came it was rumored that an old widower had been discovered dead of an apparent suicide in one of the buildings. That foundation that was leftover from the previous building just happened to located on the back left wall of our house. Exactly in the space where multiple generations of my family felt negative energy. This realization was a eureka moment for me, however, I wish my experience ended here. These final paragraphs aren’t for the faint of heart. They deal with real death and immense sadness and should be considered a tigger warning for any survivors of suicide. I feel this is an important element to include because it only became apparent to me in retrospect. In October of 2011 I got a phone call from my grandmother (The Catholic with prophetic dreams). She had dreamt that she was in her bedroom and the floor was covered in blood. The origin of all the blood was a dead body, but she couldn’t identify the body. She took this dream as a bad omen & within a day or two my cousin was in a bar fight for hitting on some guys girlfriend. She assumed the omen had something to due with the fight but noted that there wasn’t much blood involved. My cousin was only a little worse for wear afterwards and the dream had depicted such an intense amount of blood. As I mentioned before, my mother struggles with addiction & I struggled with depression for most of my adolescence. Hardship is no stranger to my family. What I didn’t know at the time was my normally goofy, fun loving brother had experienced a mood shift and was concealing a pretty rampant depression. On December 13th 2011, my then 16 year old brother committed suicide in a way that left his body sprawled out on the floor in the exact manor of my grandmothers dream. My brothers death relates to the haunting is a very specific way. Myself, My mother and finally my brother all attempted suicide around the same age. We all occupied the same room at the time of our attempts which happens to be the room directly above the basement area where all the activity seemed to originate. This is also the same area where the remaining foundation from the prior building was located. If the origin of the haunting is in-fact a disgruntled, elderly suicide victim perhaps consistent exposure to that energy was the catalyst for these morbid coincidences. Regardless, the energy of my grandparents home has grown increasingly heavy since his death & I spend minimal time there. No one sleeps in either his bedroom or my grandparents adjacent bedroom anymore. Logically they should move, however, their entire lives are wrapped up in that home and they just can not move on at this late stage in life.
